The Art of Gifting
The tradition of gifting goes back as far as the Babylonians, when Nimrod was reincarnated as his own son, by his wife Semiramis and was born at the Winter Solstice in late December.
Its the Romans who perfected the art of gifting by presenting both the Emperor and each other with good luck tokens. This practice escalated so that more and more precious gifts were given and we can guess why..
But our favourite of all time gift bearer is Aphrodite, the goddess of love. She is known to have given, Eros, the God of Love, a rose. Hence the rose being the classic symbol of the gift of love.
The perfect ethical beauty gift
We try to be as true to our beliefs as possible and its not always easy.
For us, ethical means being green and planet friendly; using only fairly traded, sustainable organic ingredients to make our natural beauty products without artificial preservatives or petro chemicals. By handmaking all our products in our own workshop in London, we keep a close eye in our carbon comsumption and we only use recyclable or bio-degradable packaging.
We want to give something back and work with some great people; our gorgeous gift boxes come from a co-operative in Nepal which runs social welfare schemes for the local people including an Aids charity and scolarships for girls while our organic shea butter comes from a womens co-operative in Ghana.
All journeys start with a first step, and we hope you will join us.
What can I choose from
You can choose from our selection of Organic Shea Butters, Organic Bath Soaks and Organic Smoothing Body Scrubs. All of our gorgeous products are handmade, suitable for vegetarians and beautifully wrapped in either biodegradable or recyclable packaging. A real eco-treat.
And we don’t use any artificial colours, synthetic fragrances, parabens, animal fats, petroleum based ingredients or any other chemical baddies; so you get 100% natural goodness.
how much do I need to spend?
If you want to spend under £ 20.00p. Choose from our great Organic Bath Soaks or Organic Whipped Shea Butters.
if you want to spend under £ 40.00p. Choose an Organic Smoothing Body Scrub.
And if money is no object. Make up your own Gift Box, mix and match from the products opposite.
How to make up your own gift box
Go crazy and fill a box of gorgeouness with all types of delicious Ruby Red products. You can add up to 3 different Organic Bath Soaks or Organic Whipped Shea Butters per box. We’ve tried to squeeze in the organic Smoothing Body Scrubs but we couldn’t manage.
Remember to make a note of the delivery address on your Paypal order and any message; and we will do the rest. We have even got free delivery orders in the UK over £ 50.00p (for outside the UK, charges will need to be made to cover cost of postage) Just don’t forget to tell us its a gift so we are sure to gift wrap.

For orders over £ 100 or deliveries based outside the UK, please contact us and we’ll work out a quote especially for you.
Our shop online can only quote you standard UK delivery charges so if you want your Ruby Red products of gorgeousness posted abroad or your order is over £ 100 either email Martine before you placed your order at and we will invoice you seperately.
If you don’t have the time to email, and you prefer to order online, we will invoice you for payment for the balance due on the postal charges seperately before your order is despatched.
If you’re ordering from outside the UK, please be aware that additional taxes, customs charges and import duties may be applied. These are the responsibility of the customer.
